Nude cruises are not for everyone. However, if you have recently decided to go on your first nude cruise, there are a few basic things you need to keep in mind. Here are some suggestions that will help you to settle in and enjoy yourself as you go on your first "a-la-natural cruise".

One of the first things to keep in mind is that you are probably not the only first timer on the cruise. While there are closet nudists who enjoy being free of clothing in the privacy of their own homes, these people may never have actually spent much time around other people while in the buff. Other passengers will be very comfortable with the concept of being sky clad in a group, and essentially will think nothing of it. As a newcomer, one thing to remember is do not stare. You probably will not have to think about this for too long, as one of the things about public nudity is that the longer you are around it, the more natural it seems.

Second, don't allow yourself to be embarrassed by your own body. Unless you have booked yourself on a cruise that is for body builders and beauty queens, chances are that there will be passengers of all ages and body types. An underlying philosophy of nudism is that the human body is attractive in all its varying sizes and shapes. No one is going to be critical of the fact that you have a few extra pounds or that there is a sag or two here and there. Focus on enjoying the kiss of sunshine on your skin and relax. That is the point of the vacation anyway.

Last, don't think that just because you are booked on a nudist vacation cruise that you will not need clothing. As the ship rolls into ports, you will need to slip on something to go on shopping trips. Also, there may be some activities on the trip, such as the more formal evening meal, when everyone dresses. Consult the cruise line in advance for some tips on what types of clothing you may want to take along.
